Night games were played in Des Moines and Omaha. The Des Moines night game on May 2, 1930 was the first game in organized baseball to be played under permanent lights. Wichita's Forrest Jensen led in batting (.354) and hits (207). Dizzy Dean pitched for St. Joseph and would go on to play a hall of fame career in the majors.
