Welcome to the Baseballist and thank you for stopping by. Our site intends to be just what our slogan says, 'Home of the World's Baseball.' So, if you are looking for baseball in the minors, the College World Series in Omaha, or what happened in Japan, Korea, or just in Major League Baseball, this is the place.

The Baseballist is more than the cold stats you might see at other sites. It is biographies written by the editor and accounts of the games and players as an onlooker might have seen them. We will eventually try to add a little commentary each month with columns, so be sure to check those, too. Once the database is finished early year, we hope to publish the column bi-weekly.

This is baseball as you know and remember it, not just a line of numbers in a record book. It is Honus Wagner fielding a grounder, Ty Cobb sliding with "spikes high" into second, Barry Bonds watching one fly out of PacBell park, Ruth's called shot, Gehrig's farewell, McGwire's meeting with the Marises, and Sosa's gestures. So sit back and browse and remember the concession stand is open. Play Ball!
